Summary of the event:  This is an extensive two-day workshop for songwriters and performers of all levels.  The workshop is geared more for adults.  But, we have had several younger students join us over the last 4 years and would welcome anyone 16 years of age and up. Friday’s agenda (8:00am – 11:00pm) will include all day instruction with simultaneous workshops on varied songwriting and performing topics tailored especially for you as well as personal song critiques by writing and performing experts. There will also be a collaborative panel session targeting media and marketing.  Other Friday activities will include a brown bag lunch with featured entertainment at the Gallivan Center and an Open Mic later in the evening. Saturday’s agenda will include additional critiques and a comprehensive Q&A with all four of our featured instructors (8:30am – 11:00am).  Students will be encouraged to attend The 2012 IAMA Free Folk and Bluegrass Festival.  The festival schedule will include our 2012 Susanne Millsaps Performing Songwriter Showcase (11:00am – 1:00pm).  Then, stunning performances by:  Doug Wintch/Anke Summerhill, 2011 Contest winner - Peter Danzig, 2012 Contest Winner (TBA), Moors and McCumber, Kate MacLeod & Kat Eggleston, Terrence Hansen, Ellis, Red June and our headlining band - Red Molly!  See www.iamaweb.org for details. All festival performances are free and open to the public.  A more detailed agenda will be sent prior to the event.

Do not miss your opportunity to take part in this unique songwriting experience.  This is sure to be our best year yet with increased faculty for additional workshops and critiques. This event will surely take you to the next level of your songwriting goals.  If you would like a personal reference on our previous events, feel free to reach out to  Reba Nissen, Steve Bassett, Jen Hajj, Shaney McCoy, Alicia McGovern, Rob Harmon or Kyle Hicks.  (All are on Facebook!)
